FAQ's

Frequently asked questions about YW camp

Q: Where will camp be held this year?

A: At Camp Zarahemla - located at 13260 Tieton Rd.  See the map below.

Q: Why can't I bring my cell phone or other electronic devices?

A: No electronic devices are allowed.  No phones, tablets, earbuds, etc.  Camp is an opportunity to get away from the "real" world and worldly influences.  Stepping away from electronic distractions allows for better opportunities to feel the spirit and allows for better interaction with other Young Women campers.

Q: What kinds of activities will we be doing at camp this year?

A: Just to name a few....canoeing, crafting, hatchet throwing, water sliding, singing, laughing, eating, team building, testimony building, and so much more!

Q: What do I need to bring?

A: Check out our packing list HERE

Q: What is a YCL?

A: a YCL is a Youth Camp Leader.  These young women are either a junior or senior in high school and they will be primarily running the camp along with your ward and stake YW leaders.

Q: Can I invite a friend who is not a member of our church to attend YW camp with me?

A: Short answer, yes - here are a few things to consider:  1 - She needs to live within the stake boundaries to participate. 2 - She needs to have participated in previous youth activities.  If there are questions, concerns, or possible exceptions we should consider, please discuss first with your ward YW leaders.

Q: How much does camp cost?

A: Camp costs $120 for YCL's and $100 for all other YW.   There is no cost for adult leaders unless they would like a sweatshirt - which is $10.

Q: What will we be eating?

A: We have the most AMAZING camp cooking staff!  They work tirelessly to bring us delicious meals!  You will also have plenty of snacks and treats provided by your own camp leaders.

Q: I have a food allergy or other dietary need that may require an accommodation . What should I do?

A: Please include any pertinent information about food allergies, prescriptions, or special needs when you register. We want all YW to participate in camp and should be able to resolve most concerns.

Q: How do I get to and from Camp Zarahemla?

A: You will be transported to and from camp by your ward.

Q: Who will I be camping with:

A:  You will be setting up camp and staying the night with your own ward. Throughout the day, you will be hanging out with other YW your same age, YCL leaders, and YW and leaders from your own ward.
